**Sign on Bonus Available - Paid out in 3 equal payments after completing 3, 6, and 9 months of employment**   

This role operates in a Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Setting, defined as “medical, social, and supportive services for Iowans with functional, cognitive, and other physical or mental health needs” (Iowa Health & Human Services). Rather than institutionalizing individuals who have these physical and mental health needs, HCBS settings provide these individuals with the opportunity to live and receive services in a way honoring to them and their abilities.

As a Direct Support Professional II, you’ll provide training to other Direct Support Professionals and give your valuable input into the development of individual goals and objectives. As an integral part of the overall care team, you will collaborate with other Direct Support Professionals, Programmers, Supervisors, individuals-served, and their families to ensure the best possible care for those you serve. You will fulfill an individual’s behavioral care plan by creatively strategizing the best way for each individual to reach and exceed their goals. Your innovative and impactful solutions and strategies will make the difference for those you serve.

• Goal Development & Leadership Support: Collaborate with local leadership to develop individualized goals, provide input on attainable objectives, train Direct Support Professionals, and apply creative problem-solving while ensuring compliance with agency policies and regulations. 
• Team Leadership & Resource Coordination: Serve as a lead resource by supporting staff orientation and training, modeling effective teaching strategies, assisting with appointment coordination, and ensuring team resources are current and readily available. 
• Person-Centered Skill Building & Behavioral Support: Deliver individualized services by teaching skills, implementing behavioral support strategies, motivating individuals to achieve their goals, and encouraging participation in recreational, social, and community activities while honoring personal choice. 
• Direct Care & Documentation: Provide quality personal care, medication support, and safe instruction while maintaining accurate, timely documentation of services, progress, and outcomes. 
• Advocacy & Person-Centered Care: Promote dignity, independence, and self-determination by advocating for individual choice, respecting rights, and ensuring services are delivered in a safe, empowering, and least-restrictive manner.
