Hands-On Property Caretaker / Working Manager

We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and self-motivated Property Caretaker / Working Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance and operations of a beautiful 200-acre private estate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a small team of two outdoor staff
• Create daily/weekly to-do lists and ensure tasks are completed efficiently
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs for the main home, guest cabins, and all property structures
• Care for chickens, landscaping, groundskeeping, and general property upkeep
• Handle vehicle and equipment maintenance (including ATVs, boats, watercraft, trailers, and snow removal equipment)
• Snow plowing and seasonal property preparation
• Maintain, clean, and organize shops, garages, and storage areas
• Order supplies, manage receipts, and submit monthly reports
• Coordinate with the House Manager on interior/exterior projects and determine when to bring in specialized contractors
• Perform light mechanic work, basic plumbing, carpentry, and handyman repairs (major jobs can be outsourced)

Requirements:

• Strong working knowledge of maintenance and other equipment (Genie lifts, snow blowers, trailers, towing, boats, watercraft, etc.)
• Proven experience as a mechanic, handyman, or property caretaker with management skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and multi-task effectively
• Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
• Professional, trustworthy, and able to pass a comprehensive background check
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
