Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Steward to join the culinary team at Petit Ermitage, a private, bohemian-inspired hotel known for thoughtful hospitality and elevated dining experiences. The Steward plays a critical role in supporting kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards that allow our culinary team to perform at their best.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of behind-the-scenes excellence, and works with consistency, efficiency, and care. This role is essential to the daily rhythm and success of our kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas including floors, walls, prep spaces, and storage areas.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries according to safety standards.
• Ensure trash and recycling are removed regularly and disposed of properly.
• Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic prep or tasks as needed.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times.
• Maintain dishwashing equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Work efficiently during high-volume service periods while maintaining attention to detail.

QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For

• Previous steward or kitchen experience preferred but not required
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Team-oriented mindset and positive attitude
• Willingness to follow instructions and uphold cleanliness standards

• Standing or walking during entire 8-hour or longer shifts.

• Must regularly lift, carry, push, and, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Flexible scheduling availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
