Compensation: $75,000 Base Salary + Uncapped Volume-Based Bonus
Position Overview
We are a premier commercial potting soil manufacturer with state-of-the-art production facilities in Groveland and Avon Park, FL. We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and experienced Sales Representative to expand our market footprint and service our valued client base across the state.
This hybrid role perfectly blends strategic account management with aggressive business development. The successful candidate will spend regular time on the road managing a vast territory spanning from Central Florida down to Homestead, while utilizing our regional offices for critical operational duties, ordering logistics, and production coordination. Previous experience in the horticulture, nursery, or commercial agricultural industry is strictly required.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Visit existing commercial nurseries, tree farms, and agricultural operations throughout Florida to build relationships, assess changing seasonal soil demands, and ensure absolute client satisfaction.
- Business Development: Actively identify and establish new B2B commercial accounts, targeting independent growers, wholesale nurseries, and large-scale agricultural enterprises from Central Florida down through Homestead.
- Territory & Travel Management: Strategically map, route, and execute regional travel schedules to optimize field time, product positioning, and client face-time.
- Office Operations: Balance field travel with dedicated office time at our Groveland and/or Avon Park facilities to process incoming custom orders, generate quotes, log field data into CRM, analyze sales volume trends, and collaborate directly with production teams.
- Technical Consultation: Leverage horticultural expertise to confidently recommend specific soil structures, media formulations, amendments, and custom blends tailored to individual grower crop needs.
Role Requirements
- Experience (Mandatory): Minimum 2–5 years of sales or operational experience with a firm background in horticulture, commercial agriculture, greenhouse production, or plant/soil science.
- Geographic Scope: Willingness and capability to travel extensively throughout Central and South Florida.
- Licensing: Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record.
- Skills: Strong self-management and independent scheduling capabilities; polished communication and B2B negotiation skills; proficient with basic office software and sales tracking workflows.
