Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Personal Injury Litigation Associate to join our Midtown Atlanta team. The successful candidate will manage a docket of personal injury matters, advocate for clients in court and during settlement negotiations, and work closely with partners, paralegals, and experts to achieve excellent client outcomes. This role requires strong litigation skills, attention to detail, and a client-focused approach in a fast-paced, collegial environment.

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Personal Injury Litigation Associate to join our Midtown Atlanta team. The successful candidate will manage a docket of personal injury matters, advocate for clients in court and during settlement negotiations, and work closely with partners, paralegals, and experts to achieve excellent client outcomes. This role requires strong litigation skills, attention to detail, and a client-focused approach in a fast-paced, collegial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution, including triage, investigation, and strategy development.
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, demand letters, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct thorough factual and legal research and prepare memoranda to support case strategy and motion practice.
- Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses and manage witness testimony at hearings and trials.
- Develop and implement discovery plans, review medical records and bills, and work with life-care planners, medical experts, and vocational specialists.
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurers; prepare settlement recommendations and finalize settlement documentation.
- Appear in state and federal court for hearings, case management conferences, mediations, and trials as needed.
- Maintain accurate case management records, meet billing targets, supervise or coordinate with paralegals, and ensure timely client communication.
- Support business development efforts by fostering client relationships, attending community and networking events, and contributing to firm marketing initiatives.
- Stay current on changes in personal injury law, court rules, and relevant medical/technical developments that impact client cases.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the Georgia Bar (active status required or ability to obtain promptly).
- 3+ years of experience practicing personal injury litigation with demonstrated experience in depositions, discovery, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy.
- Proven ability to manage a heavy caseload, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills; meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience working with medical records, life-care plans, expert witnesses, and damages calculations.
- Comfortable negotiating with insurance companies and opposing counsel; track record of achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
- Proficiency with case management software, e-discovery tools, and Microsoft Office; willingness to learn firm-specific platforms.
- Client-centered mindset with excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor when interacting with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
- Self-motivated, collaborative team player who can both take direction from partners and independently advance cases.
- Desire to grow within a litigation-focused practice and contribute to the Midtown Atlanta offices reputation for excellence.
