Location: Dallas, TX (onsite)

Salary: $140k-$180k/yr

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. The Associate Attorney will handle insurance defense and coverage matters across firstparty and thirdparty claims, including construction defect, professional liability, and premises liability. This role involves managing cases from intake through disposition, conducting legal research and drafting pleadings and motions, coordinating with clients and experts, and representing clients at hearings, mediations, and trials as needed. The ideal candidate is a detailoriented litigator with strong writing skills and a proven ability to manage a busy caseload while collaborating effectively with colleagues and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of insurance defense and coverage matters from intake through resolution, including first-party and third-party claims.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, briefs, and other court filings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare clear, persuasive memoranda and coverage opinions.
  • Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses and expert witnesses for testimony.
  • Appear in court for hearings, status conferences, and trials; prepare and argue motions when appropriate.
  • Counsel and communicate regularly with clients, adjusters, and other stakeholders regarding case status, strategy, and settlement options.
  • Coordinate with experts, investigators, and cocounsel to develop defense strategy and trial preparation.
  • Manage case deadlines, efilings, document production, and billing entries accurately and timely.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop litigation strategy and ensure high quality client service.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar.
  • 2+ years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense experience preferred); candidates with experience handling firstparty and thirdparty matters, coverage disputes, construction defect, professional liability, and premises liability are strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate and trial briefs.
  • Courtroom experience, including depositions, hearings, and trial participation.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills with attention to detail and persuasive advocacy.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent clientfacing and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively on teams.
  • Proficiency with litigation support software, efiling systems, and Microsoft Office; experience with document review platforms is a plus.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and client service.
