Job Description
This role combines hands-on welding with shipping and material handling responsibilities in a production environment. You will operate orbital welding equipment, support shipping and receiving activities, and help maintain consistent weld quality on thin-wall stainless tubing. The position suits individuals with recent welding experience or training who want to grow their skills while contributing to efficient, safe, and organized operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support efficient production and shipping activities.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures while operating welding and material handling equipment.
- Operate orbital welding systems and related machinery to produce high-quality welds on thin-wall stainless tube.
- Prepare, fit, and align components for welding, ensuring proper setup and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections of welds to verify quality and compliance with applicable standards.
- Perform minor equipment adjustments and routine maintenance on welding and related machinery.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including inventory handling, packaging, and material movement.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and store products and materials.
- Support shipping and receiving documentation and inventory control as needed.
- Work collaboratively with welders, supervisors, and team members to meet production and shipping goals.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with moderate supervision while maintaining productivity and quality.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance processes, safety, and product quality.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on welding experience or completion of a recent welding program or welding school.
- Basic understanding of weld quality requirements and visual inspection standards.
- Ability to operate orbital welding systems or willingness to learn orbital welding on thin-wall stainless tube.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with moderate supervision in a production environment.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing skill development.
- Ability to become qualified in accordance with Section IX of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code for Automatic Welding.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including handling, packaging, and staging materials.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures and safety guidelines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with welders and supervisors to achieve production targets.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience operating orbital welding systems designed to standardize weld quality on thin-wall stainless tube.
- Exposure to production environments that leverage automated welding to scale the workforce.
- Familiarity with inventory control, shipping and receiving documentation, and material tracking.
- Experience with packaging and preparing products for shipment.
- Comfort working with machining or welding equipment in a shop or manufacturing setting.
- Willingness to cross-train across welding, shipping, and material handling functions.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
