Location: Southeast Michigan (Oakland & Macomb County Projects)
Schedule: Primarily On-Site | 1 Remote Day Available After Training Period
Experience Level: 5+ Years
We are seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support a variety of municipal infrastructure projects throughout Oakland and Macomb Counties. This role offers the opportunity to manage projects from design through construction while working directly with municipalities, contractors, and clients.
Responsibilities- Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents for municipal projects.
- Support projects involving roads, water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, grading, drainage, and other municipal infrastructure.
- Make key design decisions related to roadway alignments, utility layouts, drainage systems, and site improvements.
- Assign and coordinate project tasks among team members and review completed work for accuracy.
- Maintain client relationships throughout project design and construction.
- Support contractor selection, construction administration, and project closeout activities.
- Review and recommend change orders during construction.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and overall project progress.
- Support proposal development and project planning efforts.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in Civil Engineering, Civil Design, Civil Construction, or Project Engineering
- Experience with municipal or public-sector infrastructure projects preferred
- Experience in related disciplines such as Land Development, Transportation, or Water/Wastewater will also be considered
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or other civil design software
- PE license or ability to obtain within one year

This opportunity is ideal for a Civil Engineer who enjoys managing projects, working directly with municipalities and contractors, and wants to continue growing into a lead engineering role while maintaining involvement in both design and construction efforts.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
