Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Description

The Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to support product quality, enhance processes, investigate quality concerns, and maintain compliance with industry standards. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Support investigations into quality issues and assist with root cause analysis activities to identify underlying problems and prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams and contribute to corrective action efforts that address product and process nonconformances.
  • Help track, document, and verify corrective actions to ensure quality issues are effectively resolved and sustained over time.
  • Assist with quality improvement projects focused on reducing defects, improving manufacturing processes, and enhancing overall product reliability.
  • Support the handling of customer quality concerns, product returns, and complaint investigations by gathering data and contributing to resolution plans.
  • Participate in new product launch activities, including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
  • Maintain quality documentation, records, and data collection systems to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant quality information.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Control Plans, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and other quality tools.
  • Support internal and external quality audits, including compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF requirements, by preparing documentation and participating in audit activities.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality performance data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, products, and systems.
  • Assist with calibration activities and the maintenance of quality laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
  • Learn and apply Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles to support ongoing process optimization.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineering and quality professionals to develop technical expertise and broaden understanding of advanced manufacturing processes and quality systems.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Interest in quality systems, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to learn and apply quality methodologies such as FMEA, PPAP, APQP, 8D, and Statistical Process Control, with training provided.
  • Self-motivated mindset with a willingness to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, manufacturing, or hands-on engineering experience is a plus but not required.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, engineering, or quality.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting in a technical or manufacturing context.
  • Basic knowledge of quality management systems or auditing concepts.
  • Demonstrated interest in developing a career in quality engineering within a manufacturing organization.
  • Desire to learn from experienced engineering and quality professionals and to grow within a global manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Searcy, AR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
