Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position at a Level I Trauma Magnet teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience and an active WA or compact RN license.

  • Critical Care Float Pool position in a 500-bed Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma, academic teaching hospital
  • \n
  • Floats to all critical care units to meet facility needs
  • \n
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
  • \n
  • Every other weekend required
  • \n
  • 26-week contract
  • \n
  • No on-call required
  • \n
  • Charting system: Epic (experience required — hard stop)
  • \n
  • Telemetry monitoring required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • \n
  • Required skills: mechanical ventilation, IV insertion, telemetry, and conscious sedation
  • \n
  • Preferred skills: ICP monitoring and PA line management
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses not accepted
  • \n
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; TNCC preferred
  • \n
  • Minimum 3 years of critical care (ICU) experience required, with recent ICU experience within the last year
  • \n
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • \n
  • Academic/teaching hospital experience required
  • \n
  • Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management required (skills test will be administered)
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n
  • COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
  • \n
  • References must be from a direct supervisor (not a charge RN)
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • First-time travelers will not be considered — strong, established ICU experience is required
  • \n
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
  • \n
  • Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • \n
  • RTO must be submitted prior to consideration — additional RTO will not be granted after an offer has been made; RTO cannot be requested during orientation week
  • \n
  • Holiday restriction: must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (eve and day of count as one holiday set)
  • \n
  • Scrubs: any solid color accepted; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit
  • \n
  • Onsite parking available ($15/day weekdays, $4–$5 evenings/nights/weekends); offsite parking available at $10/day with a 10-minute shuttle service (weekdays only, 5am–10pm — no nights, weekends, or holidays)
