Job Description
LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Permanent Employee
Seeking a compassionate and skilled LPN for a direct patient care role in a Critical Access Hospital. The position serves a diverse patient population of all ages across various units, including Medical, Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, ER, ICU, Transitional Care, and Behavioral Health.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and document patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, ethnic, cultural, and spiritual needs.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the patient and care team.
Administer medications and treatments, and provide patient education.
Monitor patient status, identify significant changes, and respond quickly to emergencies (e.g., rapid response, Code Blue).
Delegate tasks and supervise nonprofessional staff.
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards, including infection control.
Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Complete shift duties efficiently and provide accurate patient reports.
Participate in peer review and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications & Requirements
Current Montana LPN license, or a compact license.
Previous licensed nursing experience is preferred.
Required Certifications: Current BLS certification.
Recommended Certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP (can be obtained after hire).
Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Physical: Ability to perform CPR, lift up to 50 pounds, and withstand physical/emotional stress. The role requires prolonged periods of walking, standing, and bending.
