We also offer generous benefits, such as:PTOHealth insuranceDentalVision401(k)Company partiesIf this sounds like the right position for you, keep reading!SCHEDULE:Our Structural Welders - Ironworkers work from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday for the day shift, or 5:30 pm to 2:00 am for the Night shift. Some weekends may be required. Overtime is also available.WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:Required AbilitiesMaintain American Welding Society certification on a 1-inch plate in flat position using the gas metal arc welding and flux-cored arc welding processesAdequately operate a cutting torchAdjust the welder to ensure proper feed rate and temperatureProperly operate forklifts, jib hoists, and overhead cranesLearn and use hand signals for crane operationRead, understand, and follow cutting lists, shop orders, and shop drawingsPerform general math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, etc.)Read, write, and follow semi-complicated verbal and written instructionsCommunicate with managers and co-workersSet priorities, meet goals, and work under periodic supervisionUse a tape measure/rulerFollow safety policies and take accountability for your workMultitaskYou must also be able to pass these skills-based tests:Fillet weld break test using the gas metal arc welding processBasic welding test that covers shop drawing interpretation, weld symbols, welding processes, weld process symbol interpretation/application, and a visual acuity testFitting test that covers shop drawing interpretation, fractional number calculations, basic geometry, etc.WHAT YOUR DAY AS OUR STRUCTURAL WELDER - IRONWORKER IS LIKE:Working with minimal supervision to support accurate, safe, compliant, and high-quality projectsAccurately following blueprints and verbal/written instructionsProperly operating machinery like presses, plate rolls, and press brakesAccurately planning, laying out, and fitting metal components while maintaining alignment tolerancesAligning metal parts using jacks, turnbuckles, clips, wedges, and maulsMarking reference lines, including center, buttock, and frame linesSetting, fitting, and erecting assemblies and modules within alignment tolerancesInstalling structural foundations, doors, hatches, brackets, clips, and moreTack welding panels and assemblies as neededSafely rolling, bending, and shaping plates, beams, and other metal partsPerforming fitter duties and other responsibilities as assignedWE CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR FROM YOU!When you join SteelCon, you join a company committed to your long‑term success through advancement opportunities, career development, and a workplace where your contributions truly matter.
