Job Title: Speech Therapist (SLP)
Location: Morningstar Residential Care Center – Oswego, New York
Pay: Up to $60/hour
Schedule: Full Time

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Speech Therapist (SLP) to join our team at Morningstar Residential Care Center. As an SLP, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality speech therapy services to our residents. You will assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders, as well as develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote optimal communication and cognitive functioning.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders in individuals with a variety of diagnoses, including neurological, developmental, and cognitive disorders

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote optimal communication and cognitive functioning

• Provide speech therapy services to residents in a skilled nursing setting, including but not limited to individual and group therapy sessions, as well as caregiver training and education

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents

• Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all assessments, interventions, and progress notes

• Participate in staff meetings and continuing education programs to stay current with best practices and industry developments

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (MA, MS, or equivalent)

• Current certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP)

• Current, unencumbered NYS SLP license (or Clinical Fellow with appropriate supervision)

• Geriatric experience preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong documentation and computer skills
