MDS RN Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and lead the MDS process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of assessments for all residents

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to gather and analyze resident data, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations

• Review and interpret medical records, physician orders, and other clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize reimbursement through accurate and thorough documentation

• Train and educate staff on MDS coding guidelines, documentation requirements, and regulatory changes

• Conduct regular audits to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement

• Serve as a resource and provide guidance to staff regarding MDS coding and documentation

• Stay updated with changes in MDS regulations and best practices to ensure compliance

MDS RN Qualifications:

• Valid nursing license (RN) Registered Nurse License

• Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a skilled nursing facility required

- Certified MDS Coordinator (RAC-CT) preferred - In-depth knowledge of process

• Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer regulations

• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficient in computer skills

• Must be able to pass level 2 fingerprinting with an Eligible status.

 We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced MDS Nurse to join our Indian Beach Nursing and Rehab Center.

As the MDS Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Minimum Data Set (MDS) process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
