Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Speech Therapist to join our team at AdviniaCare Summit Commons in Providence, RI. As a Speech Therapist, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload. You will also participate in the clinical team process, provide teaching and training to care giver staff, and supervise other assistants, aides, and students as required.
Responsibilities:
Screens patients/residents and evaluates them, developing appropriate care plans
Performs direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care
Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers
Documents activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis
Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations
Communicates effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers, and supervisor
Participates in clinical program development and implementation
Participates in the training and orientation of other staff
Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field
Complies with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protects residents’ individual health information
Requirements:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Speech Therapy
Must possess an active and unencumbered speech therapist license in Rhode Island
CEU’s per state licensure requirements
Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary
Excellent hearing and verbal skills required for directing staff, customer relations, and marketing activities
Manual dexterity required for documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and for direct patient care
Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others
Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds
Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language
