Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Speech Therapist to join our team at AdviniaCare Summit Commons in Providence, RI. As a Speech Therapist, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload. You will also participate in the clinical team process, provide teaching and training to care giver staff, and supervise other assistants, aides, and students as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Screens patients/residents and evaluates them, developing appropriate care plans

  • Performs direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care

  • Consults with and trains patients/residents and caregivers

  • Documents activities according to the company’s clinical documentation system on a timely basis

  • Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations

  • Communicates effectively with patients, residents, team members, customers, and supervisor

  • Participates in clinical program development and implementation

  • Participates in the training and orientation of other staff

  • Demonstrates ability for continuous new learning to remain current in the field

  • Complies with facility Privacy Practices policies and procedures and protects residents’ individual health information

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Speech Therapy

  • Must possess an active and unencumbered speech therapist license in Rhode Island

  • CEU’s per state licensure requirements

  • Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Standing and walking for significant amounts of time is necessary

  • Excellent hearing and verbal skills required for directing staff, customer relations, and marketing activities

  • Manual dexterity required for documentation needs, manipulations of equipment, and for direct patient care

  • Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands

  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively for self and others

  • Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds

  • Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language
