Tree of Knowledge Learning Academy, a fast-growing, client and therapist-focused company is seeking a strong Occupational Therapist to join our team!

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessment:

    • Conducting comprehensive evaluations to determine a child's strengths and weaknesses in areas like fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills.

    • Reviewing medical history and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

  • Treatment Planning:

    • Developing individualized therapy plans that address specific needs and goals.

    • Creating activities and exercises to promote skill development and independence.

  • Therapy Delivery:

    • Providing one-on-one or small group therapy sessions.

    • Implementing evidence-based interventions to improve functional abilities.

  • Documentation:

    • Maintaining accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.

  • Collaboration:

    • Working closely with families to educate them about their child's needs and to provide strategies for home practice.

    • Collaborating with other professionals, such as physical therapists, speech therapists, and educators, to ensure a coordinated approach to care.

  • Advocacy:

    • Advocate for children's needs and rights.

  • Monitoring and Adjustment:

    • Monitoring a child's progress throughout therapy to ensure they are meeting their goals and adjusting treatment plans as necessary. 

Skills:

  • Clinical Skills: Strong assessment, treatment planning, and therapy skills.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and other professionals.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with children and families.

  • Knowledge of Pediatric Development: Understanding of typical and atypical child development.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions.

  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, and clinics.

  • Documentation Skills: Ability to accurately and thoroughly document assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.
