Job Description
On-site Every Other Week onsite / 5 days in Boston, MA
Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to ensure product quality across a digital assets platform supporting custody, trading, and servicing. The role collaborates with engineers, product owners, and architects to design and implement automated testing solutions, evolve testing frameworks, and drive quality throughout the development lifecycle for distributed and microservice-based systems.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $65.00 to $60.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:- Partner with developers and business stakeholders to embed quality into team workflows.
- Analyze requirements and identify risks early.
- Implement efficient automated test coverage aligned to each story’s definition of done.
- Mentor engineers on testing practices and quality advocacy.
- Adopt and leverage existing testing solutions and frameworks.
- Contribute to the continuous evolution of test strategies across product teams.
- Strong test automation experience with Java and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, JUnit, or Spring Boot Test.
- Proficiency with databases, SQL, data validation, and testing of data workflows.
- Familiarity with AWS and containerization using Docker or ECS.
- Experience building and maintaining end-to-end and integration tests across distributed or microservice-based systems.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of Agile and CI/CD practices with integration of test frameworks.
- Experience with API testing using tools such as Rest Assured, Karate, or Playwright.
- Experience with AI-assisted test generation is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering or test automation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate test approaches to technical and non-technical partners.
- Experience with requirements review, defect analysis, distributed teams, and test reporting.
- Analytical approach with root-cause analysis capability and adaptability to learn new tools and platforms.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
