Maintenance Technician – 12 Hour Night Shift
7p to 7a Rotating Schedule, Onsite
Location: Romeoville, IL
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Pay Range: $35.00 - $41.50 DOE
Join our dynamic team as a Maintenance Technician and play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation and safety of our manufacturing facility during the night hours. What You’ll Do:
- Perform and assist with minor repairs including carpentry, plumbing, interior painting, refurbishing, and cleaning
- Maintain and troubleshoot production machinery and ancillary equipment
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections, recording findings and maintaining maintenance logs
- Ensure safety protocols are followed, especially lock-out/tag-out procedures
- Oversee equipment change-outs and mold/tooling setups for product runs
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Manage parts inventory and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Support utility repairs and building system maintenance
- Assist team leads and other personnel with various tasks as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively
- Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in tools and machinery
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Forklift certification (current proof required)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-changing environment
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and perform repetitive motions
Nice to Have Skills:
- Knowledge of welding, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Experience with mold and tooling change-outs
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing setting
Preferred Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in maintenance or a similar role
- Experience in manufacturing environments is highly valued
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required
- Physical stamina to work in varied warehouse conditions, both hot and cold
- Willingness to work outdoors on certain projects
