Job Title: Patient Care Tech (Psych Unit)

Cotract Duration: 13 weeks

Location: Bronx, NY

Shift: Danys/Nights

Job Description:

Provide continuous patient observation and maintain patient safety.

Conduct and document safety rounds every 15 minutes.

Engage patients in therapeutic activities and positive interactions.

Support patients with activities of daily living as needed.

Assist with behavioral de-escalation techniques under the direction of nursing staff.

Foster a therapeutic environment emphasizing communication, connection, eye contact, and emotional support.

Observe, document, and report changes in patient behavior or condition.

Assist with EKGs and specimen collection/phlebotomy as required.

Collaborate with nurses, mental health workers, and the multidisciplinary treatment team.

Support emergency response situations as directed.

Requirements:

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Patient Care Technician (PCT) Certification

Minimum one year of psychiatric or behavioral health experience
