Veterinary Rehabilitation Assistant

 

Days & Hours

  • Current Schedule: Wednesday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Must be willing to work Saturdays as the practice continues to grow and expands weekend availability.
  • Flexibility to assist with schedule changes or additional hours when needed is preferred.

 

Position Summary

PetMotion Veterinary Rehabilitation Centers is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and detail-oriented Veterinary Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team. This position plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care while creating a welcoming experience for our clients. The ideal candidate enjoys working with both people and animals, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about helping pets improve their mobility and quality of life.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Assist veterinarians and rehabilitation technicians with prescribed rehabilitation treatments.
  • Safely handle and restrain dogs of all sizes using low-stress handling techniques.
  • Perform rehabilitation therapies including underwater treadmill sessions, therapeutic exercises, laser therapy, and other modalities as directed.
  • Monitor patients during treatments and promptly communicate any concerns to the supervising veterinarian or technician.
  • Maintain accurate treatment records and ensure patients receive high-quality, individualized care.
  • Clean and disinfect treatment areas and rehabilitation equipment between patients.

Client Service

  • Welcome clients and provide a warm, professional experience from check-in through discharge.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to client questions professionally.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the daily appointment calendar.
  • Process payments and maintain accurate client records.
  • Educate clients on home exercise programs and post-treatment instructions as directed by the rehabilitation team.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients regarding appointments, treatment plans, and follow-up care.

 

Team Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe rehabilitation facility.
  • Assist with inventory, stocking supplies, and routine equipment maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and client service staff to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and team-oriented workplace culture.

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Genuine compassion for both pets and their owners.
  • Comfortable handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn veterinary software.
  • Veterinary, rehabilitation, or animal care experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift and assist dogs weighing up to 75 pounds, with team assistance available for larger patients.
