Location: Rapid City, SD
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Pay: $19.00–$22.00/hour (DOE)

Overview
We are seeking a reliable, service-oriented Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at a well‐established, 108‐unit community in Rapid City. This is an immediate-start, full‐time position ideal for a candidate with hands‐on residential maintenance experience and a professional, resident-focused approach.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform apartment turns: painting, minor carpentry, drywall/plaster repairs, and hardware replacement
• Complete resident work orders promptly and courteously; prioritize safety and habitability issues
• Address plumbing tasks common to older buildings: fixture replacement, minor leak repair, troubleshooting supply/drain lines, and assisting with water heater issues
• Perform basic electrical work within code: replace fixtures, switches, outlets, and troubleshoot aging systems
• Provide HVAC support: filter changes, routine checks, and coordinate vendor repairs for major equipment
• Repair/maintain flooring, stairways, handrails, windows, doors, weatherstripping, and caulking
• Conduct common‐area upkeep, grounds support, and seasonal tasks (snow/ice assistance, exterior sealing)
• Accurately document work orders and communicate updates with management and residents

Qualifications

• Previous apartment or residential maintenance experience preferred, especially with older properties
• Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor when interacting with residents and staff
• Ability to lift, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks in varying conditions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to start; basic hand tools required
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures and local code requirements
