Job Description
SUMMARY
Moves trailers between manufacturer plants, warehouses, and trailer parking areas as a primary function. Also receives and locates all wood, metal, resin and non-mfg hardware products from the manufacturing plants. This function receives from manufacturers and keys into the computer system along with the address given each part. Responsible for the accuracy and care in handling of products to insure parts are received, staged and placed on carriers equipment without damage. Must be flexible with working hours and conditions to meet customers requirements. Responsible for bills of material errors and insuring feed back is provided to the manufacturing plant and the IE's for corrections. Responsible for approximately 40 million in loads moved by this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned.
· Takes direction from supervisor and lead person in the timely movement of products between the plants, storage and trailer parking area.
· Must always be cognizant of time involved in moves along with schedules required by the plants and provided through supervision.
· Safety inspection of equipment must be performed and documented daily.
· Maintains a good housekeeping standard neatness and cleanliness in areas of responsibility, enabling to maintain a safe and efficient work place.
· Must look for ways to reduce in-warehouse damage and loss.
· Help coordinate the movement of products in the warehouse to facilitate the space available.
· Insures shortages, damages and accidents are reported to the Supervisor immediately.
· Helps maintain an effective computer locator system within the warehouse to allow for quick identification and location of all items in the warehouse and within the system.
· Follow up on shortages to complete orders.
· Stages parts for orders in the computer system including floor location. This leaves a trail for Shipping and Project Management/Administrators to follow a sequence of events. Do we have the part, did we stage the part, did we ship the part, what was the weight and which carton was it in.
· Performs a continuous clearing of our bills of materials for parts. Knows parts and audits system for accuracy and follows up with IE's until correct.
· Be accurate and careful handling products with lifts to insure safe and damage free parts.
· Use computer to stage, ship and communicate.
· Cross trains and assists with all shipping functions (wood, metal, resin).

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Maintain a clean and safe driving record at and away
· Minimum of 1 year in a computerized shipping environment as well as actual floor experience.
· Legible and accurate writing skills are a necessity.
· Must be able to operate clamps and forks on lifts with a high degree of efficiency.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of high school diploma.
CDL License
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
