Assistant Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Manufacturing plant in Buffalo, NY is looking for an assistant supervisor to join their team on 2nd shift!!

Hours - 5pm-2am Mon-Fri

Pay varies based on experience - $62,500 salary

The Assistant Production Supervisor supports daily manufacturing operations by working directly on the production floor alongside operators. This role is highly hands-on, spending approximately 95% of the shift on the floor, ensuring production goals, safety standards, and quality requirements are met. The Assistant Production Supervisor also provides leadership coverage by filling in for Production Supervisors during vacations, absences, and time off, ensuring continuity of operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Work hands-on on the production floor to support daily manufacturing operations
• Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met
• Assist with staffing, scheduling and task assignments to meet production targets
• Provide real-time support to operators, troubleshoot issues and escalate concerns as needed
• Enforce company policies, safety procedures and good manufacturing practices
• Perform production checks, quality inspections and required documentation
• Communicate production status, issues, and improvement opportunities to management
• Train, coach and support production employees on procedures and best practices
• Serve as acting Production Supervisor during vacations, absences and time off including:
• • Leading shifts and managing workflow
  • Addressing employee concerns
  • Coordinating with maintenance, quality, and other departments

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or manufacturing education preferred
• Previous manufacturing or production experience required
• Prior leadership, lead or supervisory experience required
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety standards and quality requirements
• Effective communication, leadership and problem-solving skills

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to spend the majority of the shift standing and working on the production floor
• Ability to lift and move materials as required
• Willingness to work flexible hours and varying shifts as needed to assist with coverage
