Position Summary

The Make Ready Technician is responsible for preparing vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs, cleaning, and ensuring each unit meets company quality standards. This role also assists with general maintenance and helps maintain the overall appearance and functionality of the apartment community.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and experienced in apartment turns and general maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete apartment make-readies and unit turnovers efficiently and on schedule.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs including painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, and minor flooring repairs.
• Ensure vacant units are clean, safe, and move-in ready.
• Replace fixtures, hardware, blinds, locks, and other unit components as needed.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and property upkeep.
• Maintain common areas and exterior property appearance.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and repairs.
• Work collaboratively with onsite staff, residents, and vendors.

QualificationsRequired

• Previous apartment make-ready, maintenance, construction, handyman, or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, painting, drywall, and general maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience in multifamily housing or residential maintenance.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus, but certification is not required.
• Experience with apartment make-readies and preventative maintenance programs.

Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor work in a multifamily housing community.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing throughout the day.
• Exposure to maintenance tools, equipment, and varying weather conditions.
• Regular interaction with residents, vendors, and onsite staff.
