Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining and optimizing manufacturing equipment in a dynamic automotive manufacturing environment. The position offers a chance to be part of a union and work on both 1st and 2nd shifts.
Responsibilities
- Support and comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize manufacturing equipment across Pressroom, Assembly, Paint & Pack, and E-Coat operations.
- Remove, repair, adjust, and maintain press clutches, brakes, and related press components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical systems including gears, drives, and other production equipment.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems for presses, cranes, scrap conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain and service auxiliary press equipment and automated assembly machinery.
- Design, program, and modify machine controllers and automation systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Maintain and repair Paint & Pack equipment to ensure production efficiency.
- Weld, fabricate, and modify components and equipment as required.
- Operate forklifts safely to support maintenance and production activities.
- Utilize machine shop equipment, including mills and lathes, to manufacture or repair parts.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing equipment enhancements.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide timely corrective maintenance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to achieve operational goals.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Understanding of 3-phase electrical systems and automotive manufacturing processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Journeyman's card with 5+ years of experience or equivalent experience.
- High School Diploma.
- Experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, and knowledge of electrical codes.
- Successful completion of mechanical and electrical tests.
