Job Description
As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding all necessary parts and joints of trailers according to engineering specifications. Your role will involve utilizing MIG welding techniques on both steel and aluminum trailer parts, ensuring high-quality workmanship in both flat and vertical positions.
Responsibilities
- Set up welder and use an overhead crane to pick up beams and place them in setup.
- Pick up cross members from tables and tack weld them onto beams.
- Use an overhead crane to position suspensions on beams and weld the buckets of the suspensions onto the beams.
- Position and tack weld landing gear braces onto beams, then bolt landing gear onto braces using a pneumatic impact gun.
- Utilize an overhead crane to pick up the king pin nest and weld it onto the front of beams.
- Weld front skirts, K braces, V braces, tank brackets, and backing plates onto beams.
- Pick up floor sills and slide them into designated holes, set side rails into the turn jig, and clamp using pneumatic clamps.
- Weld all floor sills to the beams and complete welding of tail skirts, bumpers, winch tracks, mid-turn brackets, and side rail braces.
- Move trailers to the Turn Fixture Welding Station with an overhead crane, secure trailers in the turn jig, and perform any necessary welding tasks.
- Proficiency in MIG welding for steel and aluminum trailer parts.
- Ability to weld in flat and vertical positions.
- Mechanical skills and basic math skills.
- Capability to accurately read a tape measure, weld symbols, and blueprints.
- Completion of a specified weld test as per company standards.
- Formal welding training is preferred.
- Experience with aluminum welding, TIG, Flux core, and stainless steel fitting.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure and production fabrication.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.40 - $27.40/hr.
