\n Schedule: Nights – 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

\n Job Summary

\n Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to provide exceptional care in the James Corrections Health Unit. This unique unit cares for adult patients with oncology and complex medical conditions within a secure correctional healthcare environment.

\n The ideal candidate will have recent acute care PCU experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to medically complex patients while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

\n Key Responsibilities
\n Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients requiring progressive care and telemetry monitoring.
\n Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients with oncology, medical-surgical, and complex medical conditions.
\n Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments safely and accurately.
\n Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and other vascular access devices.
\n Monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and clinical changes.
\n Provide respiratory support, including oxygen therapy, High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy care.
\n Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized care plans.
\n Document patient care accurately using the Epic electronic medical record system.
\n Float to Oncology Medical-Surgical and other PCU units as needed based on staffing requirements.
\n Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection prevention protocols.
\n Minimum Qualifications
\n Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
\n Minimum 2 years of current acute care Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience.
\n Current acute care experience within the last 12 months is required.
\n Epic electronic medical record experience required.
\n Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred.
\n Corrections nursing experience is not required.
\n Required Certifications
\n BLS (Basic Life Support)
\n ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
\n NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
