Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med-Surg float position requiring at least 2 years of Med-Surg experience, PCU/Stepdown experience, and an active SC RN license.

Details\n

\n
• This is primarily a Stepdown role that frequently floats to Med-Surg and Med-Surg/Tele units — candidates must be comfortable working in all three settings
\n
• Stepdown patient ratios are 1:4-5; Med-Surg ratios are 1:5-6
\n
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
\n
• Schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as needed
\n
• Floating to PCU/Stepdown and Med-Surg/Tele units is a regular expectation of this role
\n
• EMR: Meditech
\n
• Pediatric patients will not be assigned to travelers without pediatric experience
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active SC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
\n
• Current certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
\n
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience required
\n
• PCU/Stepdown experience required, as floating to the Stepdown unit is a frequent expectation
\n
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
\n
• Clean license and background — no license or background hits will be accepted
\n
• Two professional references required for consideration
\n
• Copy of Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration
\n
