  • The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame, providing care via the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the institution's philosophy.

  • Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.

  • Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.

  • Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care to assure integration of information for the healthcare team.

  • Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs.
  • \n
  • Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
  • \n
  • Modifies plan of care based on continuous evaluation.
  • \n
  • Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
  • \n
  • Communicates with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.
  • \n
  • Offers constructive feedback to assist in professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base.

  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.
  • \n
  • Required Education: ASN.
  • \n
  • Preferred Education: BSN.
  • \n
  • Required Certifications & Licensure: Illinois state RN License in good standing, BLS (American Heart Association), NRP (American Heart Association).

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM.

  • Hours per day: 12.

  • Hours per week: 36.

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) specific functions.
  • \n
  • Monitors intake and output of neonatal patient assignment.
  • \n
  • Assists mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby friendly care.

  • Reports on patient assignment during multi-disciplinary rounds.
