Registered Nurse - PACU in Baldwinsville, NY

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years PACU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Deliver exceptional care and support to patients recovering from anesthesia in a post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for Registered Nurses skilled in PACU procedures, providing quality patient care during the critical post-operative period. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and deliver skilled, compassionate care that positively impacts patient experiences.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
• Minimum of one year recent PACU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficient IV skills and strong knowledge of post-anesthesia care protocols
• Excellent assessment, monitoring, and clinical documentation abilities
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and medical staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitor post-operative patients, assess vital signs, and recognize signs of distress
• Administer medications, manage pain, and provide comfort measures as needed
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical, and support teams for seamless patient transitions
• Maintain detailed, accurate records in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
• Communicate post-operative instructions and discharge planning to patients and families
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
