Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Care Float Pool position requiring ICU and PCU/stepdown experience with the ability to float across multiple units including ICU, stepdown, and med/surg.

Details\n

\n
• Acute care float pool role within a hospital setting, covering stepdown, ICU, and med/surg units
\n
• 21-bed stepdown unit with frequent floating to ICU and med/surg units — candidates must be comfortable working all three
\n
• Patient ratios: Stepdown 1:4-5, ICU 1:2, Med/Surg 1:5-6
\n
• Patient population includes NSTEMIs, post-cardiac cath with intervention, vascular surgery (fem-pop, CEA), CIWA protocol with IVP Ativan, peritoneal dialysis, stable BiPAP, heated high-flow O2 <80%, home ventilators (Trilogy), wound care, and hemodialysis (conducted in Dialysis Dept.)
\n
• Non-titrating drips administered include Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene
\n
• EMR: Meditech
\n
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
\n
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
\n
• Orientation held every Wednesday
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active SC RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
\n
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
\n
• Minimum 2 years of PCU/stepdown or ICU experience required
\n
• ICU experience is required, as this role floats to ICU units
\n
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
\n
• Two professional references required for consideration
\n
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Travel nursing experience is preferred for this position
\n
• Candidates must be comfortable floating frequently across stepdown, ICU, and med/surg units
\n
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
\n
• 13-week contract
\n
