Join the surgical services team at Good Shepherd Health Care System as a Travel Surgical Technologist. We're seeking an experienced scrub tech who thrives in a fast-paced operating room and is committed to providing exceptional patient care while maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique.

Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Function as the primary scrub person during surgical and invasive procedures.
  • \n
  • Assemble and organize sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for each case.
  • \n
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field throughout procedures.
  • \n
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the surgical team by efficiently passing instruments and supplies.
  • \n
  • Assist with sterile draping and preparation of surgical sites.
  • \n
  • Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts with the circulating RN.
  • \n
  • Prepare sterile dressings and assist with procedure completion.
  • \n
  • Clean surgical instruments and transport them for decontamination and sterilization.
  • \n
  • Turn over operating rooms between procedures to ensure readiness for subsequent cases.
  • \n
  • Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with infection prevention standards.
  • \n
  • Participate in ongoing competency training and continuing education.
  • \n
Required Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • \n
  • Current BLS Certification
  • \n
  • Recent Operating Room/Scrub Tech experience
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
  • \n
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team
  • \n
Preferred Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • \n
  • Experience scrubbing a variety of surgical specialties
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Travelers may float to other qualified departments before core staff are floated.
  • \n
  • If the assignment extends beyond 6 months, completion of CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) training will be required.
