Hospital Registered Nurse - PACU | Manlius, New York

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years PACU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A dedicated healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus in PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) to provide compassionate, high-quality post-operative care to patients during their recovery phase.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver vigilant monitoring and hands-on nursing care to patients emerging from anesthesia
• Assess patient needs, recognize complications, and respond swiftly in urgent situations
• Administer medications and treatments according to surgeon and anesthesiologist orders
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team, surgeons, and anesthesia providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on post-procedural care, discharge planning, and follow-up instructions
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient documentation in compliance with facility policy and regulatory standards
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities as required by the nursing department

Desired Qualifications:

• Active and unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of one year experience in a PACU or critical care setting preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong assessment skills and ability to interpret vital signs and clinical changes post-anesthesia
• Effective communicator with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and decisive in fast-paced and high-acuity settings
