REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER

STATUS: FULL-TIME (EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of various facilities of the venue. The Operations Manager will ensure that each facility and the appropriate equipment are in good working order to provide a first-class experience to all guests. Responsible for all set-up and tear-down of numerous events, facilities are organized and clutter-free, and the grounds and parking lots are clean and pristine at all times.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Lead and supervise day-to-day operations of staff through mentorship, delegation, develop and assign daily tasks, ensure first-in-class customer service, enforce responsibility and accountability, and ensure timelines are being met
  • Manage (hire, train, evaluate, schedule, and terminate) part-time facility operations employees.
  • Responsible for working in conjunction with the venue event management staff on event details to ensure set ups, breakdowns, and day of event(s) are met and delivered
  • Working in conjunction with event rightsholders to ensure we meet expectations for their events
  • Develop and implement routine schedules for maintenance of all facilities, such as cleaning, turf grooming, floor care, inspections, equipment monitoring, upkeep, painting, etc.
  • Coordinate schedules for during-event and post-event cleaning services
  • Work cross-functionally with events, marketing, finance, food and beverage, and leadership teams to ensure strong execution and consistent guest experience
  • Inspect grounds of the entire complex daily to ensure a debris-free environment on grounds and in parking lots, evaluate cleaning staff responsibilities, ensure all equipment is stored in an organized fashion to preserve life, and ensure facilities remain state-of-the-art
  • Help oversee equipment, storage, supplies, and facility assets with a stewardship mindset
  • Monitor daily operational performance and identify issues, blockers, or improvement opportunities before they affect guests, staff, or partners
  • Submit work orders as necessary through the client liaisons and have constant communication on the status of pending work orders
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned
  • Responsible for daily open and close of facility
  • Work within confines of the established budget
  • Additional administrative duties as assigned by General Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in facility management, recreation, sports management, or a related field and a minimum of three years of appropriate experience, or the equivalent combination of education & experience is required
  • Prior experience with managing various facilities, set-up and tear-down, scheduling employees, maintaining grounds, etc.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and negotiating skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours)
  • Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified period of time
  • Must possess current Certified Pool and Spa Operator certification or must be willing to obtain it within a specified period of time upon hire
  • Must possess a current Forklift Operator certification or must be willing to obtain one within a specified period of time upon hire

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
  • Will be required to operate a computer with knowledge of venue POS, Ticketing, Reservation, and Payroll Software
  • The facility has intermittent noise
