Line Cook / Jr Sous Chef

Sofia, a refined fine-dining Italian restaurant in the heart of Englewood, NJ, is seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard kitchen environment. You will work closely with our Executive Chef and culinary team to execute thoughtfully crafted Italian dishes with precision and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute menu items according to Sofia’s recipes and presentation standards
• Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and plating
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of your station at all times
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Assist with prep work, inventory management, and receiving deliveries

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years experience as a line cook, preferably in fine dining or upscale Italian cuisine
• Strong knife skills and a solid grasp of classic sauces and fundamental cooking techniques.
• Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen with high-volume service preferred.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
