UPMC Presbyterian is seeking Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologists to join our dynamic team! This unique opportunity supports both the Radiology Department and the IR OR, offering a varied and rewarding clinical experience.
This role will consist of daylight shifts, every other weekend, and select holidays. No call requirements!

Responsibilities
Administer contrast in accordance with assigned protocols under the direction of the proceduralist.
Demonstrate proper positioning and radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures, with a strong understanding of patient preparation, equipment operation, and monitoring systems.
Accurately identify patients using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol standards. Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols to ensure optimal imaging results.
Document patient history and procedural details in the electronic medical record as required.
Maintain a sterile environment and prioritize patient safety, including active participation in the time-out process.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and promote cooperation.
Ensure exams are properly coded, tracked through the RIS system, networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and that all charges are accurately entered.
Collaborate effectively with patients, technologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and teamwork to support efficient patient care.
Provide support to other departments by performing general radiographic procedures as needed.
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Must maintain primary registry/certification and maintain competency as required by hiring Business Unit. Must be willing and demonstrate flexibility to be assigned to any of the maintained registries by leadership.
- Must provide flexibility to work least one off-shift (evening, nights or weekend), every 90 days as requested by imaging leadership.
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
