Cnc Punch Press Operator

Operate a CNC punch press to produce precision metal components. This role includes machine setup, running production, monitoring performance, and ensuring quality standards are met in a safe, organized shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC punch press equipment to produce parts to spec
• Perform setups, tooling changes, and multiple changeovers per shift
• Make minor program adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
• Identify and report material defects or equipment issues
• Read and interpret blueprints and measurements
• Perform basic machining tasks (drilling, tapping, deburring, cutting, etc.)
• Inspect finished parts and document results
• Complete production paperwork accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Communicate with team members to keep production on track

Requirements

• 2–5 years of CNC punch press experience
• Strong setup and changeover experience
• Ability to edit programs and troubleshoot issues
• Blueprint reading and measurement skills
• Hands-on machining experience in a production environment
• Strong attention to detail and quality

Preferred

• Experience with automated punch press equipment
• Knowledge of tooling selection and maintenance
• Experience working with various metals
• Familiarity with quality inspection processes

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of University Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
