The back office float medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician, focusing on both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, managing chronic diseases, examining, and treating patient populations. The medical assistant is also responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
Responsibilities
- Support clinicians and care management teams in patient assessments and chronic disease management.
- Perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
- Take and record vitals, with a preference for manual vitals.
- Maintain knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements and universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.
- Communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
- Assess emergencies and act accordingly.
- Float from one location to another as patient queues demand.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years experience in a clinic or back office healthcare setting.
- Medical Assistant diploma or equivalent certification .
- Phlebotomy experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
