Job Description
Job Description
This role involves supporting a large-scale project by installing safety and barrier fencing within a multi-level facility. You will work closely with a supervisor and team members to ensure all safety fencing is correctly assembled, installed, and compliant with strict safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Install safety and barrier fencing throughout designated areas of the facility, ensuring secure and accurate placement.
- Work alongside a supervisor and other team members to complete fencing installation according to project plans and timelines.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly tools to measure, cut, and assemble fencing components safely and efficiently.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts when needed, following all safety and operational procedures.
- Measure and mark installation locations using a tape measure and other measuring tools to ensure precise layout and alignment.
- Follow strict safety guidelines and procedures at all times, including those specific to the facility and project.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, removing debris and materials as needed to support a safe work environment.
- Communicate clearly with the supervisor and team about progress, issues, and any safety concerns that arise during installation.
- Support other general labor tasks related to the project as directed by the supervisor.
- Experience performing general labor tasks in construction, industrial, or similar environments.
- Ability to work safely and effectively with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
- Ability to use power tools for cutting, fastening, and assembling fencing components.
- Experience with basic assembly tasks, including fitting, fastening, and securing materials.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift in accordance with safety procedures.
- Proficiency using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools for accurate layout and installation.
- Ability to follow strict safety guidelines and procedures, including facility-specific safety rules.
- Capability to work on elevated floors and remain attentive in a busy construction-like environment.
- Strong ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and complete tasks reliably.
- Previous experience installing fencing or working on construction or industrial projects.
- Comfort working on multi-level structures and large-scale project sites.
- Willingness to travel for work and remain on long-term assignments based on performance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe work area.
You join a project-focused team that values reliability, safety, and strong performance. The role offers the opportunity to work on large, high-visibility projects and to develop hands-on skills with tools and equipment in a structured environment. For those who perform well, there is potential for ongoing, travel-based work and long-term opportunities, allowing you to build a stable career in project and construction support.
Work Environment
You will work inside a large, active facility on an upper floor where multiple teams and projects operate at the same time. The environment is dynamic, with significant activity, equipment movement, and ongoing construction-related tasks. You will install fencing before other trade groups begin their work, which means you often work in areas that are being prepared and set up. The role requires regular use of hand tools, power tools, assembly equipment, forklifts, and measuring tools such as tape measures. You should expect to be on your feet for much of the shift, moving materials, handling tools, and working in a fast-paced setting. Appropriate work attire suitable for a construction-like environment, along with adherence to all safety rules and protective equipment requirements, is essential.
