As a Concrete Carpenter, you build and install formwork that shapes concrete into critical structural elements such as walls, columns, and slabs. You work closely with project leaders to understand the scope of work, interpret technical drawings, and ensure that all concrete forms meet precise specifications and quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with project leaders to fully understand project scope, requirements, and timelines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical drawings to determine formwork specifications.
- Measure, cut, and shape lumber or other materials to create structural molds for concrete placement.
- Construct and prepare structural forms for bulkheads, walls, columns, and slabs according to blueprints and project plans.
- Use a wide variety of hand and power tools, including drills, saws, hammers, and other carpentry equipment, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Clean tools and equipment regularly and perform routine maintenance to keep them in safe working condition.
- Inspect completed forms regularly to ensure they are plumb, level, straight, and meet quality and accuracy standards.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA safety guidelines while working on site.
- Assist with general labor duties as directed by the foreman or project manager to support overall project progress.
- Participate in post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement on future projects.
- At least 1+ year of concrete carpentry experience.
- Hands-on experience in concrete construction and formwork.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of setting forms for bulkheads, walls, columns, and slabs.
- Understanding of the terms plumb, level, and straight as they relate to concrete work and form alignment.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, and hammers.
- Experience working with concrete, rebar, and finishing processes.
- Commitment to following OSHA safety guidelines and site safety procedures.
- OSHA 10 Certification (training can be provided if not already obtained).
- CPR and First Aid Certification (training can be provided if not already obtained).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project leaders, foremen, and other crew members.
- Strong attention to detail and quality when constructing and inspecting forms.
- Willingness to support general labor tasks as needed to assist the project team.

Work Environment
This role operates primarily on construction sites during 1st shift, with work hours that vary depending on project needs. You work outdoors and in partially enclosed environments, handling concrete, rebar, and formwork while using a range of hand and power tools such as drills, saws, and hammers. The work environment emphasizes strict adherence to OSHA safety guidelines and company safety procedures, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. You collaborate closely with field leadership and crew members and may participate in interviews either virtually or at an office location in Carroll, Ohio, depending on project and hiring needs.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
