Associate Medical Director – Behavioral Health (Psychiatrist)

Job Summary
We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to join our team as an Associate Medical Director – Behavioral Health. This hybrid leadership role combines clinical practice with provider mentorship and program development to support integrated behavioral health services for adults with complex psychiatric and medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership for behavioral health services across outpatient, home-based, and facility-based settings.
- Supervise and mentor Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other behavioral health providers.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing patient care.
- Develop and implement evidence-based behavioral health protocols and treatment pathways.
- Support Behavioral Health Integration (BHI), Collaborative Care Model (CoCM), and telepsychiatry initiatives.
- Collaborate with primary care providers and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with clinical quality, regulatory, and documentation standards.
Qualifications
Required
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified in Psychiatry.
- Active New York medical license (or ability to obtain).
- Experience treating adults with complex psychiatric and medical conditions.
- Experience supervising Behavioral Health NPs, PAs, or other behavioral health clinicians.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric documentation, coding, and integrated behavioral health models.
Preferred
- Experience in Geriatric Psychiatry or long-term care.
- Experience with Collaborative Care Model (CoCM), Behavioral Health Integration (BHI), or telepsychiatry.
- Leadership or behavioral health program development experience.
- Familiarity with value-based care models.
