Job Title: Analytical Chemist II

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Analytical Chemist II / Data Reviewer to support quality and compliance through advanced laboratory testing and data review activities. This role offers a balanced mix of hands-on analytical work and investigative responsibilities, with approximately 50% laboratory testing and 50% data review and Phase I investigations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, scientifically curious, and experienced working in a regulated GxP environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process samples, stability samples, finished products, and cleaning validation samples.
  • Conduct analytical testing including FTIR, HPLC, ICP-MS, titrations, water determination, assays, impurities testing, and pharmaceutical water testing.
  • Evaluate product characteristics such as pH, density, viscosity, refractive index, water activity, appearance, taste, and odor.
  • Execute Phase I laboratory investigations and support troubleshooting activities.
  • Review analytical data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.
  • Prepare laboratory solutions, buffers, standards, and reagents.
  • Coordinate sample receipt, tracking, and disposition activities.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment through calibration, preventive maintenance, and routine upkeep.
  • Support inventory management, laboratory organization, and general compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a GxP-regulated laboratory environment.
  • Hands-on experience with HPLC and ICP-MS instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of analytical testing methodologies, laboratory investigations, and data review.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr.
