This role focuses on assembling and processing wire harness products used in lighting and accessory systems. You will operate specialized equipment, work from detailed documentation and blueprints, and ensure that all finished products meet strict internal and customer specifications. The position combines hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly work with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and continuous improvement in a small, collaborative manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate wire harness processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assemble wire harness products using assembly documentation, parts lists, hand tools, and training provided.
- Inspect completed products to verify they meet internal quality standards and customer specifications.
- Cut, strip, mark, and terminate wires using hand tools and semi-automated equipment.
- Manually route wires by following blueprints, schematics, and written instructions.
- Utilize braiding machines to coat and protect wire harnesses.
- Use hand tools, crimping tools, and soldering equipment to complete electrical and mechanical connections.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and drawings to guide assembly work.
- Support electrical and mechanical assembly tasks as needed for general production.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following housekeeping and 5S practices.
- Participate in team-based continuous improvement projects to enhance processes, quality, and efficiency.
- Follow all safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and inspectors to resolve assembly or quality issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and organizational goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Experience using hand tools for assembly, including cutters, strippers, crimpers, and basic mechanical tools.
- Ability to perform electrical assembly work, including wiring, crimping, and basic soldering.
- Capability to follow detailed written instructions, parts lists, and assembly documentation.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure products meet internal and customer specifications.
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and also perform tasks independently.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for working with assemblies, fixtures, and equipment.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Commitment to following safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Previous manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Experience with wire harness assembly or cable assembly is beneficial.
- Familiarity with electrical assembly, including wiring, soldering, and crimping.
- Ability to read and follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience using semi-automated equipment for cutting, stripping, and terminating wires.
- Exposure to mechanical assembly work in a production setting.
- Comfort working with braiding machines or similar equipment is a plus.
- Interest in participating in continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives.

Work Environment
The facility is a small manufacturing shop with approximately 50 team members, most of whom work in assembly and inspection roles. The company designs and produces lights, covers, and related components primarily for the recreational vehicle industry, with a strong focus on 12-volt lighting and accessories. The plant includes injection molding operations, wire harness production, and general assembly areas. You will work with hand tools, semi-automated cutting and stripping equipment, braiding machines, and other standard assembly tools in a clean, organized, and safety-focused environment. The standard work schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing a four-day workweek with extended shifts. Dress is typical for a manufacturing setting, emphasizing practicality and safety, including appropriate footwear and any required protective equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
