Job Description
This role operates CNC mills and lathes to produce high-quality parts in a precision manufacturing environment. You will set up and run multi-axis machines, interpret blueprints, perform in-process inspections, and make minor adjustments to ensure consistent quality and efficiency. The position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to follow established work instructions and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC mills and lathes according to established work instructions and production schedules.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts from CNC machines safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, and work orders to understand part specifications and tolerances.
- Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
- Monitor part quality and machine performance throughout production runs and take appropriate action when deviations occur.
- Make simple tool wear adjustments and offset changes as instructed to maintain part accuracy and quality.
- Make minor adjustments to G and M codes as needed, without performing full programming.
- Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures at all times.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance productivity and quality.
- Previous CNC machine operating experience (required).
- Ability to operate 3-, 4-, or 5-axis CNC lathes or mills as an operator.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to perform basic tool wear and offset adjustments on CNC machines.
- Ability to make minor adjustments to G and M codes (no programming required).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and safety procedures.
- Interest in growing within a precision machining and manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to participate in apprenticeship or training programs to expand skills.
- Comfort working both independently at a dedicated station and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with coworkers and supervisors.
- Mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn more about CNC machining and related processes.

Work Environment
The role is based in an indoor, slightly air-conditioned machine shop designed for precision manufacturing. You will work as part of a team of approximately 34 people in a collaborative, teamwork-focused environment, while maintaining your own dedicated station or area for machining. The shop environment includes CNC mills and lathes and requires standing for extended periods and working around active production equipment. The setting emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety procedures to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $62400.00/yr.
