Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (On-Site)
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join a patient-focused general dentistry practice in Hornell, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a dental hygienist who values preventive care, patient education, and building long-term relationships with patients in a supportive clinical environment.
The practice provides a strong work-life balance with a predictable schedule, no evening or weekend patient appointments, and a team culture focused on delivering gentle, high-quality dental care.
SchedulePatient Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM
Employee Hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Lunch Break: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM
No Monday patient schedule
No evenings, weekends, or on-call requirements
Perform routine dental prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance procedures
Conduct periodontal assessments and oral health screenings
Review and update patient medical and dental histories
Provide preventive dental care and patient education
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices
Assist with treatment planning and clinical recommendations
Maintain accurate patient documentation and records
Follow infection control and safety protocols
Collaborate with the dental team to create a comfortable and positive patient experience
Support a prevention-focused approach to long-term oral health
Current Dental Hygienist license or eligibility for licensure in New York
Current CPR certification
Strong clinical knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and preventive care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to educate and connect with patients of all ages
Commitment to patient-centered, gentle dental care
Preferred Experience:
General dentistry experience preferred
New graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply
Experience with:
Scaling & Root Planing (SRP)
Periodontal maintenance
Local anesthesia
Nitrous oxide certification (preferred but not required)
Patient ages range from approximately 4 to 104 years old
Approximately 15-20 patients per day
Hygienists focus on one patient at a time to provide quality, personalized care
Complex cases may vary based on periodontal health, medical history, age, and treatment needs
Compensation: $40-$50 per hour (based on experience)
