Dental Hygienist

Location: Hornell, NY
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (On-Site)

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join a patient-focused general dentistry practice in Hornell, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a dental hygienist who values preventive care, patient education, and building long-term relationships with patients in a supportive clinical environment.

The practice provides a strong work-life balance with a predictable schedule, no evening or weekend patient appointments, and a team culture focused on delivering gentle, high-quality dental care.

• Patient Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM

• Employee Hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

• Lunch Break: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM

• No Monday patient schedule

• No evenings, weekends, or on-call requirements

• Perform routine dental prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance procedures

• Conduct periodontal assessments and oral health screenings

• Review and update patient medical and dental histories

• Provide preventive dental care and patient education

• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices

• Assist with treatment planning and clinical recommendations

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and records

• Follow infection control and safety protocols

• Collaborate with the dental team to create a comfortable and positive patient experience

• Support a prevention-focused approach to long-term oral health

• Current Dental Hygienist license or eligibility for licensure in New York

• Current CPR certification

• Strong clinical knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and preventive care

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to educate and connect with patients of all ages

• Commitment to patient-centered, gentle dental care

Preferred Experience:

• General dentistry experience preferred

• New graduates with strong clinical training are encouraged to apply

• Experience with:

  • Scaling & Root Planing (SRP)

  • Periodontal maintenance

  • Local anesthesia

  • Nitrous oxide certification (preferred but not required)

• Patient ages range from approximately 4 to 104 years old

• Approximately 15-20 patients per day

• Hygienists focus on one patient at a time to provide quality, personalized care

• Complex cases may vary based on periodontal health, medical history, age, and treatment needs

• Compensation: $40-$50 per hour (based on experience)
