  • Work in either the sheet metal bay or the bar bay, depending on operational needs, and adapt to changing priorities across different areas of the facility.
  • Perform order selection using high-reach or side loader forklifts and sit-down forklifts to pick, sort, and stage metal materials accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate an overhead crane when needed to move, lift, and position heavy materials safely and in accordance with training and safety procedures.

  • Support general material handling tasks such as moving, organizing, and replenishing stock within the bays and throughout the facility.
  • Assist with metal working tasks such as saw operation, deburring, grinding, and metal grinding as needed to support production and finishing operations.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, consistently prioritize safe operation of equipment, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Demonstrate accountability by arriving on time, maintaining strong attendance, and meeting productivity and quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and demonstrate a willingness to help others to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of orders.
  • Participate in ongoing training and recertification on forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment, and apply new skills to daily tasks.
  • Work required overtime beyond scheduled shift end times, especially on 2nd and 3rd shifts, to meet production and shipping demands.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to learn and operate high-reach or side loader forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to learn and operate an overhead crane for lifting and moving metal materials.
  • Material handling experience, including order pulling, order selection, and staging materials for shipment or production.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds independently and perform frequent physical tasks such as moving, banding, and positioning materials.
  • Strong focus on safety, including adherence to safety procedures, use of equipment as trained, and awareness of surroundings.
  • Proven accountability and reliable attendance, with a track record of showing up consistently and on time.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift (approximately 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday–Friday) or 3rd shift (approximately 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Sunday–Thursday), including regular overtime.
