Core Responsibilities

  • Generate redlines of technical and non-technical nature.
  • Assist in identifying the scope of work and fee for proposals, work order authorization, or change orders.
  • Create and manage complicated base files.
  • Perform engineering calculations and modeling independently for final review by a PE.
  • Perform independent QC on reports and models prepared by others using checklists and review tools.
  • Responsible for writing and compiling reports with final review by a PE. May assist with advanced modeling.
  • Responsible for report writing and compilation and submit to PE for final review.
  • Prepare high-quality exhibits for client and public presentations following company standards.
  • Prepare cost estimates with direction.
  • Prepare agenda and meeting minutes for client and municipal meetings. May be asked to lead some client meetings.
  • Present technical topics to clients and review agencies.
  • Coordinate internal departments and subconsultants to meet project timelines.
  • Assist with the request for information (RFIs).
  • Assist with hydraulic and hydrology calculations for roadway drainage.
  • Assist with preparing specifications.
  • Responsible for completing timecards accurately and on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Achieve an 85-90% Billable Utilization Rate. Non-billable activities include company & team meetings, professional development, community involvement, innovation time, culture & engagement activities, learning, and training.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing engineering construction plans and reports for land development projects.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Professional knowledge of Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Pipe Networks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of governmental public and private development codes and ordinances.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess a positive attitude and actively participate in company culture.
  • Ability to efficiently utilize time in completing tasks accurately, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.

Physical Requirements

  • Required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • The position may require a visit to project sites occasionally.
  • The position requires a normal range of hearing.
  • The employee must be able to lift 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires prolonged sitting with 15% of the time spent bending and reaching.
  • Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Noise levels are consistent with a standard office environment.
