Veterinary Technician

We are currently seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our family of upbeat and caring professionals. Applicants should have enthusiastic energy, a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and have a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Experience is preferred. Responsibilities:

-Triaging patients and taking their vitals and acquiring patient history and other information from clients.

-Safely handling and restraining animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and other exotics.

-Filling prescriptions and handling vaccines/injectable medications

-Acquiring cephalic, saphenous, and jugular blood samples.

-Inserting IV catheters and fluid therapy

-Monitoring anesthesia

-Processing specimens in the in-house laboratory and submitting specimens to outside laboratories.

-Preparing animals and equipment for surgical procedures

-Administering medications and vaccines prescribed by a veterinarian

-Performing radiographs

-Entering patients’ service charges into the computer database and keeping accurate patient records

-Explaining patient instructions to clients and sharing educational materials

-Displays great customer service attributes and client communication
