Job Description Position Overview
Occupational Therapist Needed
Full-Time / Part-Time • Weekly Pay
Join a mission-driven organization providing innovative programs and services for individuals with disabilities across New York City. This role offers the opportunity to work with a manageable caseload while making a meaningful impact on the lives of students.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate students and develop occupational therapy treatment plans based on functional abilities and goals.
- Provide therapy services in accordance with IFSP/IEP plans and agency guidelines.
- Support development of daily living skills including feeding, dressing, hygiene, fine motor, and sensory skills.
- Monitor student progress and document therapy outcomes and recommendations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, evaluations, and case reviews.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's care.
- Refer students to additional clinical services when appropriate.
- Design or adapt assistive devices such as splints or braces when needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, attendance records, and therapy reports.
- Assist with program development, staff training, and supervision of OT students or assistants when required.
- NYS Occupational Therapy License
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to evaluate student progress and adjust therapy techniques accordingly
- Good organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Must be fingerprinted or willing to be fingerprinted by the NY Board of Education and Department of Investigation
