Monroe Health Center is seeking a professional and organized Front Office Specialist to join our team. This position is a full-time position, the main assigned location of work is at the Peterstown Health Center with occasional assignment at other MHC locations as needed.


A Front Office Specialist role is critical to ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for our patients in a busy healthcare setting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance
  • Handle phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and staff
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Collect co-pays and payments, coordinating with the billing department 
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and care coordination

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; medical office training preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a medical office or customer service role is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus
